DIOR AIR JORDAN CAPSULE 2020

AIR DIOR

For the Men’s Fall 2020 Runway show in Miami, Dior and Kim Jones partnered with Jordan Brand to unveil the limited-edition Air Jordan 1 High OG Dior sneaker. A collection of ready-to-wear and accessories completes the collaboration, and a low version of the Air Jordan 1 OG Dior rounds out the range. While the ready-to-wear and accessories will be available in selected stores, the highly anticipated Air Dior sneakers will be dropping by means of an exclusive online experience. Stay tuned to discover more soon.

THE CAPSULE COLLECTION

A palette of gentle shades brings together the House’s exceptional tailoring expertise with a 1980s American sportswear feel, inspired by the legendary Michael Jordan. The collection balances timeless silhouettes from the Jordan and Dior vaults while bringing new life to classic sport styles. Relaxed, minimalistic wool suits reflect the art of detail according to Dior. Punctuated with buttons signed with the Air Dior logo, the blazers sport subtle blue and white striped linings. A bomber jacket reprises the emblem on its back and displays the Jumpman logo – recognized the world over - on its sleeve. It is paired with silk shorts decorated with a graphic motif featuring the “CD” initials. A gray suede hoodie also sports these new logos in perforated or embossed versions created using precise, meticulous techniques. The Dior Oblique motif – a powerful, timeless code – for the first time adorns the linings of the designs, made in Italy. Cashmere or sleeveless sweaters, shirts and polo shirts as well as pants affirm a new look, inspired by the NBA champion’s style and his sensitivity to twists of audacity coupled with elegance. Four leather goods pieces – including a pouch and a wallet – as well as bob hats, necklaces and jacquard ties complement these must-have looks, while square silk scarves subtly combine the toile de Jouy and Wings prints.

“I love mixing together different worlds, different ideas – Jordan Brand and Dior are both emblematic of absolute excellence in their fields. To bring them together in this special collaboration is to propose something exciting and truly new,” states Kim Jones, Artistic Director of Dior men’s collections.

Air Dior ready-to-wear and accessories will be available from July 8th in the following stores:

DIOR MEN - BEVERLY HILLS RODEO

DIOR MEN - MIAMI DESIGN DISTRICT

DIOR MEN - NEW YORK SOHO

DIOR MEN - NEW YORK 57th STREET

DIOR FALL 2020 COLLECTION CAMPAIGN BY Steven Meisel

“This campaign captures the idea of Miami and the modern vision of Dior enhanced by Shawn’s graphic identity,” explains Kim Jones, Artistic Director of Dior menswear,

Like psychedelic pictorial waves, the letters in “Dior” unfold in black and white, forming the subtle backdrop of campaign images. Evoking the sun-drenched spirit of Florida, Fall 2020 looks by Kim Jones appear in a decor inspired by the scenography at Dior’s fashion show in Miami, featuring original sketches by the artist and designer Shawn Stussy*, a key figure of the '80s surf scene.

“This campaign captures the idea of Miami and Dior’s modern vision enhanced by Shawn’s graphic identity,” explains Kim Jones, Artistic Director of Dior menswear. Like graffiti, the mesmerizing motif born of this collaboration with the iconoclastic American artist appears on psychedelic shirts, sweaters and bob hats in tutti-frutti or two-tone versions. It also crops up on the iconic B23 sneakers as well as on an exclusive version of the Saddle bag featuring bead-embroidered white characters contrasted against a navy ground. The Dior Oblique canvas clads the new Saddle Soft bag, now revisited in a hobo format, as well as a range of other jacquard bags in soft hues, and punctuates black leather ankle boots with its instantly recognizable design.
